The Words of Yogananda - What I would have done
Greetings all,

There is a lot talk on the Walrus that is centred on what Yogananda did or did not say (write), and where the evidence is. Some parts of this can be solved.

Things like the following are what I would have done if I had had access to all the old SRF magazines and books with lectures by Yogananda:

I would have scanned them. And then made them available to others too.

Exactly how to do it - there may be a good way. It is not for me to go into the details here. I was informed by Ananda that they let a lawyer look through any Yogananda material they publish - that was over one and a half year ago. Time flies.
Perhaps a private downloading service is the thing?

A "silverberg" has scanned and published several old magazines. They are online. One a front page the Walrus furnishes the link. I downloaded the available texts and then made some bigger files of them - easy to sort through on a computer. But very many of the old magazines are not online - maybe many more could be scanned, proofread and put online. That could be good.

I have read that Srflongago had the old magazines. Why not try and help him or someone else to get the stuff online as far as it is legal, anyone. For the benefit of the community -

I for my part scanned some of the books by Yogananda, and the "find" function helped me a lot when there were words or topics I was looking for - for example "death". Although the scanned texts are not proofread and not presentable and functional enough to be spread, they helped me.

There are good reasons to think that an available database of Yogananda words could help some who post on this discussion board. Some persons on the board repeatedly call for evidence of this sort, and easily available data files may help - in more than one way.

I am a little surprised this has not been done already, or is there something I have missed?
