Reply Fake SRF WALRUS usage on other boards
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have had some problems on our board with people posting obscene and even pornographic information. Others have even just attacked peoples views at every opportunity, which is not what this board is all about. We have banned these people from this board. In several cases these people have started up their own bulletin boards, which is of course fine. Unfortunately some of them have created logon accounts named “srfwalrus” on their boards to make it appear we are involved in their sites. This is a childish effort to generate more discussion on their own bulletin boards.

If you have a doubt about the identity of the person posting on any board click on their name to find out the details about that person.

We don’t post on other boards. We don't even post much on our own board!

i think this board is very well moderated. i was curious about the cb thread, which was gone when i clicked, but it was not a very wholesome curiosity. more like rubbernecking at a wreck. in general, a thread that is about another similar topic board is likely to be kind of gasoline on a fire.

sorry to hear there is a fake walrus. the things people do on the web get pretty silly sometimes.

and i'm glad the walrii posted the deceptive practices notice.

I had my posts lifted from here and posted on various other sites without my knowledge and out of context. Also, there is a site that copied everything on here and is using it on their site as proof that all SRF (EX or otherwise) members, are loons. I'll try to find the link. Very disturbing.

I also felt that too many posts were missing by both members and the Walrus that I gave up. I just happened by tonight for old times.

For those of you who wondered what the hell happened to the 'featured topic" which is featured on the main page of the Walrus, it got hacked away. However, thanks again to a timely backup of the board by Landseal, I've been able to restore at least the first page of that thread, which should be posted above. Tip of the hat to Landseal for backing up the whole board back in March of 2005.

backup
Yes indeed, the backup saved a lot of information, and thanks to those that took the time to reconstruct many of the posts. Although I must add, I feel some time was wasted on resurrecting posts concerning (what we could view as) political infighting, which could have been spent on restoring more informational postings, many of which have yet to be resurrected.

An example being this thread. What's the historical value? As the years roll by, does anyone really care about message board personalities' squabblings and hijinks?

:rolleyes

This type of spam posting is truly

Rude
Despicable
Pig-like
Fascistic
Violent, in the sense of forcing viewers to wade again through tons of stuff already posted.

A really sad character, with a hijacker's mentality

Re: backup
According to my reliable information, SRF is not teaching Kriya the way Yogananda taught it, and so it does cause problems with people. Of course if you look at the boards you will find that there are many people who are complaining of adverse side effects from doing any kind of pranayama techniques, which would include kriya. There are some older monastics in SRF who do teach kriya the correct way to a few people, but this is done secretively. But with any meditation technique you will have your casualities.

If you're referring to my postings, I've simply reposted information which has previously been removed from the board here, since readers like you can't quiet digest both sides of the picture. You require being told exactly what to believe, and are happy to accept it as 'true enuf'.

Luckily not everyone is like that, otherwise we'd all be goose-stepping to your guru's idol, Hitler.

You complain about SRF censorship, but you're more than happy to do it yourself to protect your own views on reality.
