householders in co-operation with monastics
Guests and ALL,

"love one another as i have loved you"
~~a carpenter in Galilee

"more would leave if they had a place to go"
~~a former monastic

in strength, in courage, in health, in confidence....do others feel there is plenty yet for us [who have benefitted so from the nuns and monks] to do to support nuns and monks in transition, those future departures from the order?

some of us are not contributing financially to srf and our checking accounts are fat......laughing ...shhhhhh

we have homes, we know and receive good counseling, in the transition time we can open this to all

there is strength, courage, health and confidence for all
we are in this together

i wonder what we might hear, feel and think in here, in our friendships, homes and communities as we go forward in life

~~~~
hmmmmmmmm
more would leave if they had a place to go
thinking
........................................................... hmmm
what say you?
thank you circle
This seems like a good place to push the community thing.... I know , I know don't freak out. living with other devotee's outside of the rule of SRF....meditate together maybe common room dinners twice a week Work at whatever you like to do ....if you don't feel like getting involved then you don't..... I think SRF needs more community and less rule, this stuff should be fun . people are supposed to laugh on the spiritual path. and You sure don't see it on this board. our in srf for that matter . Seems like you can't find the good mix of householders who want to do this....they are out there but nobody seems really willing, maybe afraid of big brother.....
what do you think ??
The bottom lines to that are money and the risk of wasting many years on a failed non-profit venture.
A lot of us have done that for many years already. I hate to say it but looking at qualities like sincerity,I usually prefer non-SRF people to SRF people, with exceptions of course.
I think you need to find ways to translate land into money by for instance starting a vineyard or treenursery ,resort or whatever as long as you're staying in touch with your accumulating bank-account there shouldn't be a problem.
