Kriya Yoga The Basics
The whole of the point of SRF rests on Kriya Yoga.

As I was putting all my SRF stuff in a box the last books to be put away was the Bhagdvagita, I picked it up and read once again about Kriya in the 1st book at the back just to remind myself that the whole basis of Kriya was to do away with Breath, that through Kriya one came to know by experience of the breathless state that the human body did not require to Breath or for the necessity of the heartbeat.

In fact that was my whole reason in wanting to practice Kriya,to have that experience promised in the AY.
.Now from peoples posts it seems that a lot of them have given a lot of time and effort and sincere practice of Kriya yet have come no where near experiencing the need not to breath or for there heartbeat not to be required.

If one was experiencing this state that is also pure bliss as well then would all the politics and the other crap in SRF and in our lives really matter,I doubt it.

The point is,the technique doesn't seem to do what it promises.so that lesser issues and stuff become important and not whether kriya works or not which should be the whole foundation of our Life if we are to beleive in its power.

Personally speaking I wouldnt give 2 hoots about what Daya Mata or the rest of the clan is doing if Kriya was giving me unalloyed bliss, but it doesn't.
In fact I find what Y calls lesser tecniques like sitting in the silence far more potent for feeling the energy field of the body and for a feeling of peace.

What do you think??

Re: Kriya Yoga The Basics
There are several trick claims that we encounter when we study yoga literature. Among them are siddhis, "seek God first and all things will be added to you", breathlessness, invisibility, becoming all-knowing, dissolving the body at will, creating planets, and so forth.

Any one of these may be accomplished by the simple act of identifying with the infinite and unconditioning the mind from belief in the finite. When we identify with the infinite we acknowledge it as the source of all apparent phenomena, thus we become capable of all the trick claims.

I realize that this is kind of a circular solution and can be seen as oversimplification, but I believe it to be be true.

The simple proof of this and the bliss you seek is to be found in turning away from the senses through pranayama (kriya), or life-force control. Try this, when you meditate think that our senses are directed toward the front. Now mentally turn your attention behind you and imagine that great dark space is the infinite itself. It contains everything all at once ("all things will be added to you").

Facing forward we see the infinite expressed in many apparent cloaks of being. Turning within we see the actual reality or source of all things. The good news is that as defined in nirbikalpa samadhi we can have both at once. This was illustrated in the story about the student who was told to walk through the palace observing everything while balancing a goblet on the back of his hand.
