The Mata house in Sierra Madre
I didn’t used to think of this house much but in light of what I know about the bad ladies it is another telling sign. I used to think it should be OK to have a retreat house. Why not? Now I realize they are there A LOT. And no one else can use it. If a novice could request to stay there for a while, then that is one thing but they can't. A specific retreat for the matas… why? Why do they need it more than the others?

They want to stay away from even their fellow nuns. Why?

They want to keep the house secret? Why?

Why are they there so much?

Their rooms in the building where Master spent many years are not good enough for them? Why? Wouldn’t those rooms have great vibrations and wonderful memories?

Re: The Mata house in Sierra Madre
I was aware, when working at Mt. Washington years ago, that Daya Mata was there very infrequently. There was always a big fuss when she was there, especially when I worked in the kitchen, because a special tray was sent up to her room. Again, this happened very seldom, and, being new at the time, a little perplexing for me. I always wondered where she could be...I imagined she must have been staying down at the Encinitas Ashram...don't know why I thought that. Maybe I thought it might be like the days when Yogananda was around, how he might come into the kitchen and see what was going on...silly me.

Re: The Mata house in Sierra Madre
Even when she is on the grounds, and yes it is seldom, she is kept separated from employees and other monastics by a small powerful circle of people. This small group of nuns derive their power from controlling this access. These power mongers, and Fayes unwillingness to correct this situation, are the root causes of most of the problems at SRF.

They also want to hide what she is really like. If other people could interact with her in various situations they would see the real person and that would lead to other questions. Get the picture?

It seems it might actually be easier to get to see the Dalai Lama, than to see Daya Mata.

Amma contrasted to Daya
Walri,

Those who visit Amma have seen that daily (when she is in a given locale) anyone may enter a physical embrace with her, question her,etc
As I said in another post, unfortunately, Amma presents the showcase for profit AIMS Hospital in Kerala India, as a non-profit hospital.

I accept my own gullibility in giving donations to that hospital, yet also realize I was robbed.

the waiting list in '92 to see Faye Wright
gardendiva,

Our family was on a waiting list maybe less than a year to see Faye Wright (daya) in '92.
We sat with her and 10 others in the third floor (headquarters building) for an hour and a half. That was Feb. '92.

You might laugh, though it wasn't easy to see Faye Wright, I did see her, before I "got to see myself."

Seriously, I was so busy in the 60's through 90's going to the Guru stores to buy cosmic consciousness, that I never got to see my self until rather recently.

My admission is that I kind of like myself, and my friends, failures and all. A Lot!!

It is amazing to me that you got to see Faye. Does your family contribute large amounts of money or something? Are they somehow famous for something?

The service meant nothing in seeing her. Many serve 100's of hours/month or even work there (which some consider service at first) and are cleared out of rooms when she is about to walk through. $3000 does catch their attention if done in a lump sum. I can't see how you got to see her unless is was a larger group satsanga. Even then it is a fairly exclusive invitation list.

You prove your loyalty to SRF with money. There are no subsitutes. In the bigger picture your loyalty ($$$) means nothing if you disagree with something they have done publicly. Notice how much discussion and disagreement you see in public with SRF?

Soulcircle,
How would Faye know you served? Those around her guard the information she receives and access to her with a vengeance. Remember that access to “Ma” is the only real source of power in SRF. Being truly devotional means nothing, ask the monastics. Being a helpful monastic means nothing. They get to see her less than we outside people.

Some employees have given up good jobs and sacrificed 10s of thousands of dollars a year. The bad ladies don’t consider this in any way. Members are to be used “for the good of the work” meaning for the good of them. Look at the pitiful state of things at Encinitas with the senior nuns using and discarding long time members with 1000’s of hours of service and employment at low wages. Their actions are shameful!

I am personally at a loss about how you got to see her highness. She is in such poor mental health these days I am sure it won’t happen again.
