Introspection
I have always heard that the monastics were forced to do daily introspection "charts" or processes of some kind. If that is so, why would so much disappointing behavior still go on? Is it just a superficial review? Was this just a rumor and it is not part of the routine?

RE: Introspection
They don't actually introspect about the messy details of behavior. They check off a long list of "spiritual to do items" and included are things like: Was I kind? Did I practice the presence during activities?

Real introspection is a time-consuming and potentially exhausting task, and requires "an honest introspection, the exquisitely painful approach to wisdom." As pointed out in other posts, the SRF culture intentionally works to destroy wisdom.

So I have to support all the posts that point out how far from the truth the organization has strayed. Forget all the external things like buildings and computers and money. They do not teach what Master teaches. It is simple and obvious; those who don't see it are living in such a deep state of self-delusion and denial that it is a complete waste of time to talk to them.

Questions
How much time is actually spent in kriya practice by the monastics on a daily basis?

How many kriyas are being done daily by the monastics?

What is the daily routine of the monastics?

Simple questions...could someone with knowledge of the inside please answer...thank you.

How much time . . .
Many monastics are up by 5 AM and begin their routine with the basics, plus 30 - 60 min. of meditation. Some do their Kriya during their personal time, some use the 45 minutes after group recharging doing Kriya.

The number of Kriyas is supposed to be 108, twice daily, plus a cycle of 2, 3, and 4 for senior monastics. This is a bit much for younger monastics who are taught that correct practice is more important than quantity.

Marcel (Turyiananda) once told Ma that he did 1000 Kriya and she told him he should have done only 1 correctly.

At lunch, there is generally a 30 min. group meditation available, although only a portion of the monastics attend. Many go to their rooms and either read, sleep, or meditate.

Evening starts with exercise - basketball, running, walking, weights, vollyball, etc. -- followed by showers/cleanup, group exercises, meditation and then dinner.

Many monastics go back to work, a few go to their rooms and read or introspect. Some find ways to sneak out and do stuff. Some prepare or give services, some are phone counselors. Meditation ends the evening into sleep, usually around 10 or so.
