What's "funny" about Flynn and his longtime association with SRF and its leader is the fact that in reading the depositions of which he took from Mr. Walter's, the latter makes the assertion that SRF, DM and he Flynn were personally behind the lawsuit (Bertolucci).

Flynn in what must have been quite a performance immediately questions Walters, "Daya Mata? Whose that? Is that a person?" I remember thinking while reading this passage that this guy is as duplicitious as sin. And its a shame that Walters and Ananda didn't have the money to pursue this connection as it would've blown the cover from the queen mata and her henchman.

Flynn also represented another of DM's devotee's, Deepak Chopra, in his defense of a sexual harassment suit from a former woman in his employ (the ironies just keep coming!). Flynn used such slimeball tactics that he was censured by the courts in San Diego and is famous for this display of what must be, even for a lawyer, a new low in tactics, demeanor, and comportment.

Look up Flynn on google.com. You'll come up with some interesting facts, as did I.

I accept that your view is better grounded in information than mine. Part of what I said was inference, not fact. I think you may have underestimated his influence as the gatekeeper of information from the outside world to Daya and the Board. I do not think they have any idea as to the consequences of his external actions on the reputation of SRF in the world wide spiritual community. They and Daya are, after all, in a tight knit community that does not easily accept outside views of anything.

There is independent information from a very reliable source that he was indeed interested in Kriya 20 years ago. Those I know who have spoken with him say that his immediate personal means of expression coincide with the tone and quality of his publicity releases on behalf of SRF.They do not seem to be controlled or mediated by others. Normally lawyers for organizations are not their public spokesman, and do not establish the tone of the organization's public image.

For all I know his tone and Daya's may be identical. Daya may want to foster the impression of a litigious and spiteful organization that his activity reinforces to help maintain tight control over the remaining monastics. She may not care about the impression this makes on the world at large.

Some time back, in the Legal category of threads i posed the question and received some responses re: Flynn. You may still find interesting comments there, i haven't checked lately.

I've been wondering what happened to the category? Lack of interest? Old news? Some fear of reprisal? I have to wonder....Glad however to see this reappear, although in a new approach. Sad to see his presence still associated w/ gurudev's work.

Sorry, this is not correct. I believe SRFLONGAGO got it right. Flynn has a long time and on-going spiritual connection with SRF teachings & practices, although not an SRF member, according to what I've been told. And he also has an apparent personal connection with individual SRF monastics. For example, someone on this BB noted that he occasionally plays basketball at hidden valley.
