Why keep asking "why"?
Why even call them bad ladies? Maybe they're just people who:

~ are going through menopause
~ were never trained in management
~ had a rigid upbringing
~ are worried about displeasing "Daddy"
~ matured and formed their values during the uncertain,
frugal period know as the Great Depression
~ are conservative
~ don't know how to work with money (Master didn't)
~ who possilby have repressed regrets about having lived
their whole lives in a cloistered environment
~ who are going through a dark night of the soul
~ who are old and cantankerous
~ who think you and me are a bunch of wimpy liberals
(generation gap)
~ who haven't quite shaken off the influence of religiosity
~ who are resisting the idea of dying
~ who may be suffering from obsessive anxiety disorders
~ who have a poor understanding of human psychology
~ who are imperfect human beings prone to error and
misjudgment
~ who are trying to save face (Both Lyndon Johnson and
Robert McNamara let the Vietnam drag on rather than
admit they had made a mistake)

Understand...this is ALL they have. Their whole lives invested into watching over this sacred cow. You try to inspect the cow; they can't tell if you're going to hurt it, so they prick up and start assuming the defensive posture. I'm beginning to wonder: Just whose cow is this anyways?
