There's a Tibetan Buddhist sect gaining widespread following these days called the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT). The teachers in that org that I've met are some of the NICEST people I've ever known. But I find the teachings quite rigid. One of the things that's taught is, if you get angry with your guru you lose 1,000 lifetimes worth of positive karma.

Isn't it just incredible how obviously-manipulative lies are accepted by nice, intelligent people? It's astonishing how iron-clad our denial mechanisms can be. It really is proof that FEAR is running the whole show.

I've read that the NKT is the extreme fundamentalist branch of the same buddhist tradition as the Dalai Lama (the yellow hats), and since the current Dalai Lama is very inclusive, even welcoming the views of the red hats, who are anathema (as bad as shiia vs sunni muslims or catholic vs calvinist) to fundamentalist yellow hats, the NKT are furious with the Dalai Lama.

The movie 'Religious Intolerance' is very tiresome, and is often on a double feature with 'God is Fear'. LOL!
