Re: This latest round of posts
Nagchampa, I would also like to hear the details of what you heard that convinced you that Y was a wolf in sheep's clothing. I have no need to know your source, but I would like to know what has convinced you so?

A request to Walrus moderator, if you do decide to move this thread please only move the part of it starting after Nagchampa made her revelation and the discussion related to it. The first part where I express my doubts and discussions related might be useful to a newcomer like myself in the future and I would be sad to see the entire thread moved wholesale where it would be harder to find. Thanks!

You're a sly one Nagchampa!
Or else very confused!

First you spend an entire thread making very heavy implications that Master and Tara Mata had a child. Then when that is disproven (much to the chagrin and dissapointment of Soul Circle!) you "apologize" for not "editing it out". Why don't you also apologize for making the implied accusation in the first place?

Now you assure us that your "inside information" from the same "reliable and trusted source" that gave you this will not "take away our doubts about Yogananda". Excuse me? I didn't realize all this time you were trying to remove our doubts? You seem very irritable and insistant that we should all be doubting Yogananda like the rational and factual people that you and your trusted friend are!

If I had any doubts that Master was the "second coming", I certainly don't anymore.

Crucified over the internet by idiots in sheeps clothing.

Pillow Talk...
Oh, it occurs to me that you are offally obsessed with Masters sex life.

Do you think maybe you just need to get laid (seriously)?

Maybe you are doing some transferring and projecting.

It's really not as sinful as you and your "trusted friend" might think (you're not doin the nasty with him are you?)

I wouldn't trust everything he says if that's true. Some of these wolves just tell you whatever you want to hear to get you in bed!

"You really sound like a Pharisee, Nag Champa."

Dawnrays, while this is all very fascinating, I wish to point out that you are calling Nagchampa a Jew. From earlier posts, I thought that it didn't matter to you that people thought Yogananda had sex, now your stack is blowing off over it and your calling people "Jews"...

Well any way, welcome to the tribe, Nagchampa! It's cozy here, have some kugel, don't worry about insulting Reb Yehoshua, it's his followers you need to be careful of. 8)

Somewhere in between the demonic fake and the pure saint might just possibly be the truth. Sort of like the ol' Ida, Pingala, Sushumna thingy, eh?

Leave it to you etzchaim, to find an insult where none was intended.

You get might prickly from time to time about your guru, although I've never actually seen him "attacked" as you call it on this board (besides the swami twins, who attack everybody for attention).

I really think you have more of a problem with him being ignored.

Why don't you put your self righteous, victomized survivor act in the drawer now and then?

Perhaps if I put a :) in it you might calm down and realize that it's not me thats all huffy and self-rightious? Eh?

Chill Dawnrays, take a deep breath. There's a whole lotta tension goin' on...

My Guru doesn't want people to pay attention to him, trust me, he's hiding out at the moment. Wants to live in a cave. I don't blame him.

Re: Sounds like Jesus Christ is in Trouble!
D. I just need to point out that calling people Jews is not an insult, but perhaps my sense of humor is obscure. If you start calling people Pharisees, willy nilly, you should be consciously aware that the two words Jew/Pharisee are synonymous. The Pharisees wrote the Talmud.

Also, I'm quite certain that Jesus would not be insulted, nor would Yogananda, though he might be saddened by all of this, and siddhis do not make a saint, just someone who has collected a whole lotta energy and can direct it. What makes Jesus special is not his powers, it's his teachings. Beware of the in-fighting between the early Christians and those who remained Jews in the Gospels. They were written decades after Jesus died. It's political and probably doesn't reflect Jesus original teaching.

Re: Miracles and powers
Nagchampa2 quotes:

"Sri Krishna is believed to be the most exalted in the knowledge of spiritual liberation. He never tried to develop any kind of siddhis. He merely ate and drank like a normal human. Yet he was a far greater Guru than that all past great spiritual preceptors."

No true saint tries to develop siddhis, but they obtain them anyway. Sri Krishna's life is full of miracles. Read the Shrimad Bhagavatam and prepare to be amazed. Sounds like the above quote is from a prejudiced Indian who believes their way is the only way, and Lord Krishna is the only supreme Godhead.

Vedanta dogma ("vedanta gurus" are the right ones) can be just as narrow as any other. It's easy to buy into a guilt trip from the SRF dogma, especially when one has been exposed to fire and brimstone SRF fundamentalists like Brother R.

But it's OK to go where your heart takes you. One needn't beat up on Yogananda in order to feel good about doing this. Yogananda himself changed Gurus, from Swami Kebalananda to Sri Yukteswar. If Yogananda and kriya yoga were the only way to realize God, there would be no other paths. All are there for those who feel drawn to them.

The allegations of Nagchampa2's undisclosed sources may or may not be true. We'll probably never know for sure. So why dwell on it? Let those who benfit from Yogananda's lineage and teachings continue as best they can, and others find a way that best suits them. Shanti.

Sources
Borg:

my sources came from two different web sites. the one you quoted was written by dr. c.s shah, whomever he may be. the other came from the santhigiri ashram. I also never heard them either. also, the gita society has the same information on what makes a false or a true guru, and i have talked with dr. prashad who runs the place. these writings come from the upanishads and not from one certain religious group. I never rely on any one religious group for truths.

aren't vedanta gurus any guru who accepts and teaches from the vedas and not just one organization?

Sounds like someone else is in trouble.
Eztchaim,

i don't get upset over anything dawnrays says, but I think walrus may.

dawnrays:

i am not a pharisee.
i am a heretic. And
the hindus wrote those two postings.
i merely copied them off the net.

That is funny but so true. I imagine that many would like to live in a cave.

You go, girl!
Quote:
I don't want anyone making decisions on Yogananda on what I say or what one other person has said about him.

I don't know how long you can keep this going, nag, but I, for one am being entertained mightily. You go, girl:

“ooh, I know stuff that is sooo bad, if only I could reveal it. But I can’t. Oh, if only I could. But I can’t. Ok, here’s some inference, innuendo, and hearsay, but the really good stuff, well, oh, if only you knew. But I can’t tell you.

I’m not going to write anything else about Y anymore. But if I was, it would sound like this and this and this. I wouldn’t want anyone to make decisions about Y based on anything I had to say, but in the meantime, did you know that he was accused of this and this. And if that weren’t enough, all this description of what the wolf’s clothing bit was about isn’t really what I meant. It could be something else, too. Not that I can tell you.

I now know what a true guru is cause I got this stuff off a website. I don't know anything about the sources, sure, but it is good enough for me. I know I said it was really, really hard for me to trust anyone, but this is different.

And now that I know what a true guru is, I went and got another one. You should hear him sing. Well, if you could afford to, that is.”

Way to rebound, Nag. Chela2020 may be gone, but her spirit lives on.

Voyeurism....
Hey Nag,

This may be worth getting kicked off the Walrus for!

Do you know what an unhealthy interest in someone else's sex life is called? Not spirituality, voyeurism.

How many times a week are you giving your special friend favors just to have him whisper sweet nothings about Yogananda's sex life into your ear?!

There is a latin word for what I really wanted to say, but I'm not sure how to spell it!

"So, Nagji, how does one go about hearing Nerode's story? Does your moral credo allow you to reveal this?"

No, you can find his web site on the net.

dawnrays,

you will have to try a lot harder to say things that would get you kicked off walrus.

Gee whiz, Dawnrays. I do not blame my problems on SRF. I blame them on George Bush, where they belong.

Nag, thanks for the tip about Nerode. I'll try to find the website. Just for fun.
