DIF website
For those of you who have not seen it, the yogananda-dif.org/ website has some interesting information. I don't know how accurate it is, but it raises some good questions in any case.

The issues of changing Master's name and some spellings seem almost silly. Why would someone do that? SRF often seems to think it's members are children who won't understand things.

Srfwalrus,

The issue of changing Master’s name and some spellings seem almost silly. Why would someone do that?

I’m Dakota, I am the author of yogananda-dif.org I asked the same question sometime ago and this is the answer I came up with.

First one has to have some historical knowledge, which unfortunately is held mostly by SRF, and they have to this date not make a library of all the old material available to the public. But fortunately I do have access to some of that historical knowledge.

What people do not know, is that ALL the books and literatures till the July-August 1958 SRF Magazine had Paramhansa Yogananda on it. It was this issue (July-August 1958) of the SRF Magazine that we first see the change in the spelling. So the question one has to ask oneself is what is happening at SRF that this time to make them want to change the name.
What I found in the history from the old magazine is covered in the following discussion on my web page.

You may not agree with my conclusion, but you will find the facts interesting.
Just so you know, I offer anyone $100.00 reward if you can help me find any facts, (not opinions) on my web site that are incorrect, or any quote or fact that I have misrepresented. My web sit is not about rumors, but about the truth of the situation.
Truth is, so if truth shows up with a label of criticism, so be it. Who cares, it is truth and is welcomed.

“There is no one without faults, not even men of God. They are men of God not because they are faultless but because they know their own faults, they strive against them, they do not hide them, and they are ever ready to correct themselves.” Gandhi

I love the Gandhi quote! Very inspirational. Why can't the SRF leadership act and talk like that?

"... but because they know their own faults, they strive against them, they do not hide them, ..."
Very powerful stuff. Very much to the point of the problem we are facing within SRF.
Thanks Dakota.
