I have found your board very helpful
Dear Walrus,

I have found your board very helpful in making sense of what has been happening to me and my family for the past WW years (my husband said "I feel like somebody's given me my brain back). It's so refreshing to hear people talking openly, experiencing their grief and disappointment in a supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere. I've even submitted a few posts myself.

However, I do get the impression that a lot of people are kind of floating around with nowhere to go and meeting on this board. We (my family) goes to Ananda now but it is still a little inconvenient (although a much better atmosphere) WWWWW WWWWW WWWWW WWWW. I have heard rumors of their being a group of Kriyabans and students in my area but I have no way of knowing. I wonder if other people are in this situation? You know how quiet srf people can be. I have actually known a woman in srf who was taking the lessons secretly (from her husband) only to find out later that he was also a lesson student, and similar anecdotes.

The ex-monastics (my heart goes out to them) seem to be in particular targets of MC. Why should they (of all people) not be able to participate fully in groups?

My point is, since so many ex-devotees are meeting at the Walrus and it seems to fellowship is one of the main issues, would you facilitate some kind of bulletin board for devotees and groups meeting to find each other? I made this suggestion in one of my posts (to advertise) but then I thought of writing to you. You might even encourage them to advertise (in spiritual newspapers and such). It simply serves srf's purpose too much for us all to slink away in shame and failure (while they remain untouched and untouchable, until recently). I don't like this "lost and directionless" feeling I'm getting from the board, although I think that the healing has begun. If for some reason you don't feel like that's your role (and I understand this) please let me know also as I might try to do it myself. It just seems like you already have the everybody's attention.

I know people are reluctant sometimes to give out information about themselves, however once you've made the break, what does it matter if your "blacklisted"? It is a badge of honor I think in this case. I also think many people give MC more power than they deserve (and that's part of the power).

Love,
WWWWW
