Letter from India - Found Walrus Board
The following letter was received from an Indian email address.
Quote:
Dear Brothers and Sisters of SRF,

I am from India, and I came across this discussion board while searching for stories of Sri Sri Lahiri Mahasaya.

After seeing some of the postings, I thought of registering and participating in the discussion forum, but the pure pain of having to see the Great Sri Sri Yogananda's lifelong work being discussed with not much respect (some person referring to Sri Sri Daya Ma as Faye and with some other disrespectful address)BY THE INMATES (I guess many are inmates or former inmates?) led me to instead write a separate letter to SRF Walrus.

I do not know any of you, but, if you could take a simple message from a poor peasant in India such as me, please do not indulge or engage yourselves in wasteful discussions like trying to find the RISHI MOOLAM. Instead, use the time to engage yourselves in GOD.

I am writing this letter with much, much pain in my heart of having to address persons in SRF Which I hold to be a very very spiritual place, (and I would consider the persons living in SRF as very very fortunate in their lives for having direct contact with the place and persons close to Sri Sri Paramahansa Yoganandaji).

I know nothing of all the spiritual discourses and finer points of theology and philosophy. All I know is that we should be able to LOVE GOD more than anything else in this world.

I hope that this discussion forum chooses to post only those postings which are relevant to the spiritual life and deletes all others.

My humble pranams to all in SRF.

[Dated June 2003]

SRFWalrus: We get email from people around the world who run into the board with no experience of the SRF organization. He obviously feels SRF = Yogananda.

What may seem wasteful to one person is not to another. To others these postings are healing because it helps them to sort out feelings in regards to an organization that has hurt them in some way. This is the only way in which they can connect, to find out if what they are feeling is something that someone else has felt also. Validation is very important for without it many may think that it is their own problem, which would cause them to feel only more despair.

Truth is sometimes painful and one of the lessons of the spiritual life is to be able to take in different points of view without falling apart. If you had taken more than a perfunctory glance at the postings, then you would see who is truly disrespecting Master's work.

You should not be so judgemental on something which you know so little about.

By the way, her name is Faye and it is not disrespectful. If you wish to see the edited version, you will have to contact the official srf website.

Yes, how very very true.........and how very unfortuante......all one has to do is reflect on the many horrible things that have been done in history, all in the name of "God"

Thanks for the addendum!
