Hello Walrus,

Something has been tickling the back of my mind for a while. The number of visitors jumped dramatically since 2/14. Then there was an announcement that SRF is going to sue Ananda again. Also, I noticed that anytime I drop by during the day, there is always someone on the walrus, especially during the weekdays.

Also the quality of the posts has dropped somewhat. Although this could be speculation, I'm wondering if SRF or their legal department has someone here watching the board. I have pretty reliable information that SRF was having a fit during the early months.

A brother of mine told me that they were doing a head hunt for the people leaking information primarily for 2 reasons: 1. the accuracy of the information posted and 2. the lack of control of the information being leaked. Now we notice a trend of discord on the board and posts that might be considered "trashy". Could SRF be watching the board due to the fact that it could affect their new case? Has the board become too important for SRF to ignore so people have been hired (or have volunteered) to negate and confuse issues to discredit the board? I'm not sure of the answers to any of these. Just a gut feeling. (Also, I wish the posters who seem to engender discord had better grammar.)

SRF Walrus: Oliver Stone just had to get his two cents in on some of the goings on at the mother center.

This is an old email sent to us about the time we decided to force registration on the board in order to post messages. We were getting all kinds of messages even some containing adult material. Forcing registration has had some down sides but overall it has helped.

I think SRF doesn't waste much time with the Walrus anymore. The damage is done and they looked into it and can't do anything about it. They bad mouth the Walrus when asked but that is all.
