Lets give SRF a little break on this one. Layoffs are no big deal. Lots of companies are cutting back. It is only weird because we assumed they were the religion for the new age and the biggest thing since sliced bread and were growing and would treat people with kindness as part of their family. Walrus readers know they are something else so in that context there is nothing much to complain about.

Bend your viewpoint to seeing they are just a business and all the emotion drains out of the arguments.

Pain free, detached and just observing. Watching the world as it turns or "As the World Turns".....

We know the truth now, they can't hurt us anymore.

REALLY? A rhetorical question: How many people on this board are now or ever have been memebers of a Labor Union? Perhaps not since SRF instills a bullheaded self (read maybe EGO) sufficency.

Yes layoffs can be a necessity. Here's my real point. You say SRF is a business and a BIG business. Has anyone ever tried to ORGANIZE the employees at the various properties, printing facility, etc.?

Not necessary to go it alone. The SEIU has organizers. It would not hurt to consult with them. Today the unions best weapon is their legal department. As Anandamoy might say, "Sound familiar?"

Don't believe the negative press about Unions. I have worked Union and non-union and Union is much better for ALL conerned. Do SRF a favor, If you are any postion to know contact an SEIU organizer. Service employees international union.
