SRF providing notice of economic upheaval
Just listening to a recent Michael Ruppert (of Peak Oil/Crossing The Rubicon fame) interview archive:
[link=http://www.suesupriano.com/audio/ruppert05.mp3 newwindow]http://www.suesupriano.com/audio/ruppert05.mp3[/link]
got me thinking (again) as to whether srf would provide any form of insider notice in the event of an immanent major economic disruption.

Someone in another walrus post mentioned how even PY had a difficult time w/ accurately predicting future events, however Ruppert is suggesting major economic (with ramifications in other areas of life) problems by the end of this year - so, if true, short-term 'vibes' should be out there for the psychically-tuned to pick up.

I remember many years ago I inquired to one of the elderly monks re world events - he didn't want to discuss it - and was a little miffed that I even brought up the subject.

Seems like srf may be a little hesitant to discuss this matter do to past prediction failures?
BTW, did PY warn anyone before the 1929 crash?

Re: SRF providing notice of economic upheaval
GeneAum,
To my knowledge, PY did not mention the crash specifically to anyone, but the astrology (uranus square sun) was screaming its prediction loud and clear, if anyone was listening. That same aspect is returning in 2014, and if you compare the 1929 chart of the USA with the 2014 chart of the USA, the 2014 chart looks much worse. As I've been telling my friends, by 2014 we'll be in full tragedy mode. No doubt lots of negative stuff will happen prior to that. For a completely different approach to the same issue, I recommend reading "The Fourth Turning." A couple of historians look at American history, and predict a major catastrophe on the order of the Civil War, the Great Depression or WWII. If you are really curious, you might try gaining a private audience with Brother Dharmananda at Hidden Valley. He is the only one I know who might tell you anything. At least he won't BS you. Regarding SRF's official predictions of the future, I may have mentioned this in another thread, but I'll repeat it here. Master of course predicted we'd have another depression that would make the last one "look like a picnic." He never gave a date for it, and some foolish devotees thought it was coming in the 1970s, and so SRF published Master's 1940 lecture in the mid-1970s. As many know, in 1963, Daya Mata had her "black cloud" vision in Rishikesh, India while on a pilgrimage to Babaji's cave. In this vision, she later reported, a "black astral cloud" covered the earth and nearly blotted out civilization altogether, but eventually the cloud lifted and humanity survived. She was so distraught by the vision that it was not until the 1980s that she started telling people about it, but even then, she never said when it would occur. I've even heard some foolish devotees who think it's already passed! Br. Joseph and others reported that, after the 9/11 events, Daya Mata at least twice publically stated that these events signalled the beginning of her black astral cloud. SO, at long bloody last we have some definitive timeline. Some (foolish) devotees have suggested that the vision wouldn't take effect for hundreds or thousands of years. Sorry, folks, but Daya Ma herself stated that this black astral cloud is already starting to cover the earth, and events since then seem to bear witness to her prediction. Now, I take the liberty of connecting Master's prediction of a worldwide depression with Daya Mata's prediction of a near-collapse of civilization. Couple that with the astrological predictions I mentioned earlier, and the scientific predictions for global warming, and it looks as if we're in for it, folks. There are some other, more far-fetched predictions, such as the Mayan Calendar (which predicts a major ecological disaster that will re-shape the earth on December 23, 2012, and the predictions of the Bible Codes, which are also targetting 2012. I don't know if they hold any water, but they've been around for a while, and some people give them some credence. Back in the 1960s there were lots of cartoons about bearded old beatniks carrying signs "The End is Near". And that was supposed to be funny. Well, it ain't funny any longer. This time, they're right. Forget all the predictions, just look around you: the Chinese are gearing up for a military confrontation with the United States (they want Taiwan in the worst way, and the USA has always said they'd fight to defend Taiwan), there are "Christian" extremists in our government matching wits with Muslim extremists, both of which have nuclear weapons, and the hate rhetoric is getting thicker every year. On top of that, the planet itself seems to be revolting----crippling droughts in much of southeast Asia and Australia, massive hurricanes in the Atlantic, and now we read that huge areas of the Siberian tundra are thawing, releasing as much CO2 into the atmosphere as all the car exhaust fumes in the entire world. Translation: our CO2 emissions just doubled. This is fueling global warming at an even faster rate. Soon, the El Nino conditions will become permanent according to climatologists, which will mean better weather in Southern California, and massively worse weather in southeast asia and south america, where droughts are predicted to dry up and destroy the Amazon rainforest in 50 years. Already there are parts of southern Brazil where it's so dry that huge trees are dying....but do they tell you any of this on the evening news? A couple of years ago, I wrote SRF a dire warning letter, outlining much of the above, and they wrote a nice note back, basically blowing me off. My main suggestion was to ramp up our farming activities, so we could feed ourselves in a crisis. Two of Master's suggestions in his "World Crisis" article from 1940 were, "Learn to make your own clothes, and learn to grow your own food." Well, since I sent that letter, SRF has sold off two of its farms (Cherry Valley and Lazy T), and the other two farms (Hidden Valley in Escondido and Summit Avenue in Encinitas) are languishing in near-complete disuse. So, to answer your question about whether SRF would "provide any form of insider notice in the event of an imminent major economic disruption", all I can say is that they are ACTING as if nothing whatever will go wrong. Maybe they're right, and maybe all my predictions are wrong. Time will tell.

Re: SRF providing notice of economic upheaval
Paramdas,

Thanks for all that excellent information.
There are other parallels with the 1929 era as well. You all know what insider trading is right? It’s the buy/sell activity of the corporate execs. Well, take a look at this site:
www.j3sg.com/sector/index...Tickers=no
Same thing happened in ’29 when the ‘selling’ was exponentially greater than buying.

The (multinational) corporations are out of control – polluting, exploiting, evading their share of support for the ‘commons’, etc. Of course, starting w/ Ronald RayGun, who gutted the Sherman Antitrust Act, this opened the door for the corporate raiders. The Enrons are the little ones who got caught – most don’t. This current American neocon administration is taking RayGun’s agenda to the furthest extreme limits. I suggest all the bliss-bunnies pluck their ostrich heads from the holes of indifference and wake up to what’s going on!

And, you mentioned 9/11. I hope you all had a chance to see the ‘9/11 Mysteries’ presentation at the MET in Hollywood. Things aren’t what they seem. I used to think Alex Jones was a nutcase – I don’t any longer.

Also, the HARP project is partially responsible for the freakish weather around the world.

Anyway, for all who are reading my and Paramdas’ posts, don’t freak out – get informed and prepared. As I mentioned in a previous post, PY, just moments before his mahasamhadi said to “work for peace”. He didn’t say meditate for peace, but ‘work’.

Kriyananda also is convienced something is going to take place , he's been saying it for years....hasn't really put a time table on it other than soon.
padre pio also had a vision that sounds very similar to Daya's black astral one...It really scared him {so I was told}
think about it........ all it would take is a bad earhquake in the california heartland at the right time and this country would not eat for a long time

Re: SRF providing notice of economic upheaval
This thread inspired me to look up what I could find of DM's dark cloud vision, which occurred during her trip to India from October 1963 to May 1964. Her written description is included in Only Love, published in 1979 but it's a transcript of a satsanga given in Encinitas in August of 1965. So, first, she didn't wait that long to start talking about it and, second, it doesn't sound to me that she was saying that civilization was about to be wiped out (See "A Blessing from Mahavatar Babaji") but that the evil force would seek to engulf the world.

The chapter is mainly about how Babaji is supposed to have confirmed to her that indeed he had chosen her to head up SRF, that people would have to turn to God to spare us from the gathering dark cloud of karma, and that Babaji's nature is love.

A footnote says, "On one occasion, PY was asked about the appointing of future presidents of SRF/YSS, who by virtue of their office would represent him as the spiritual head of SRF/YSS as well. He replied: "There will always be at the head of this organization men and women of realization. They are already known to God and the Gurus."

"Though PY had chosen and trained DM for her future spiritual role, she never inwardly took the appointment literally, feeling that when the time actually came the Lord would surely choose another in her stead. But neither the will of God nor the express wish of Guru was to be altered by this vain hope of one so wholly qualified, but humbly reluctant. (Publisher's Note)" (!!!)

Now, I don't know when the vision actually occurred, but the US president was killed in November, 1963. US cities erupted in riots throughout the 60s and 70s. 58,000 US troops and hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese were killed in the Vietnamese War. Other US leaders were assassinated in the 1960s and a presidential administration was deeply involved in wholly unconstitutional activities that culminated in another president resigning from office in 1974. This summary is admittedly US-centric but it was a pretty dark period, if you ask me. Not that the current one isn't as well.

DM, herself, in her tape Moral Courage seems to say the misuse of sex is the big problem of evil in the world. Not poverty, not corrupt corporations, not violence, just sex. Perhaps I'm oversimpifying. Someone else can listen to it and correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks GeneAum for the reminder of what PY said at the end of his last talk - "Work for peace." That bears repeating.

Re: SRF providing notice of economic upheaval

DivineGypsy, this is what I get for relying on second-hand info. Thanks for setting the record straight regarding the timetable of Daya Ma's disclosure of her vision. As a compromise, it could be noted that while she may have given the initial talk in 1965 to a handful of people in Encinitas, she waited 14 years before publishing it and therefore making it known to the general public. One may also suppose that "evil engulfing the world" is a close cousin to "wiping out civilization", at least the "civil" part of civilization. Those two statements may not be so far apart. In conversations with the monks, I have heard other versions of the vision, ones which may have been too dark to publish. Daya Ma, for all her virtues, is a bhakti at heart, and prone to sugar-coat even a worst-case-scenario, and SRF's very essence is devoted to focussing on the positive, so Ma's emphasis on Babaji's redeeming love in the face of evil's attempt to take over is understandable. [IMHO, this business of being "positive" or "looking on the bright side" is a generally good idea unless or until it becomes an excuse for covering up the facts].

The fact that Daya Ma said that the events of 9/11/01 were the beginning of the black cloud is not in question. She stated it publicly, and I have heard this confirmed by both lay members and monks who were present.

Re: SRF providing notice of economic upheaval
Well, DM also said her vision in part had to do with an illness that she was to suffer from and from which she would recover. That happened fairly promptly.

Sorry, but the cynical side of me has concluded that SRF will make these vague predictions and then when catastrophes inevitably happen, they'll say, "That's what we were referring to." We've all been waiting for the second big Depression for 70 years. We've been waiting for DM's "dark cloud" for 40. We already learned how accurate Master's predictions about Hitler and Stalin were

Wake me when the nightmare begins, and work for peace in the meantime.

Not to worry, DG, when the nightmare starts, you'll get a wakeup call! All I can say is, use your intuition. Prior to both World Wars, the evidence was everywhere that the upheavals that societies were facing would not end well. Many intuitive people back then knew that great calamities were about to happen, and now I know what my parents and grandparents were talking about when they said that they could see the clouds of war on the horizon. As usual, Yogananda had the best advice for times like these: "AWAKE AND READY!!!!"

SRF rightly cautions against this FEAR-based reasoning. Contradictory enough it also publishes "world crisis" and I wish they take it off their book lists soon.
All I can say to these panic-messages is 'whatever'. Have fun scaring each other like kids in summer camp.

The clouds above us join and separate,
The wind in the courtyard leaves and returns,
Life is like that so why be upset?
Who can stop us from celebrating?
