Interesting...the 3rd website you gave had a quote attributed to Frater DPAL that is straight out of Norman Paulsen's book. I wonder if Paulsen knows about this or perhaps Frater DPAL is a student of his or maybe Frater DPAL is Norm himself? Who knows?

I am curious, are there other references (recent or ancient) that instruct one to place the tongue on the bone under the pituitary (spheniod sinus?) gland. Is this practice mentioned in Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Siva Samhita, Geranda Samhita, etc?

The man doing the demonstration in the first website barely seems to have his tongue in the nasal cavity. Is this really kechari?

Re: Amma speaks directly in response to question
Siddhasiddhanta, I suppose it was too much to ask, on my part, for an actual discussion on the subject. I have had my own experience of the Kriya going up through my throat, into my head, etc., etc., etc.... without the aid of the mudra.

If my head didst float above my neck with nary a line between them, I would say "Yes! do thou maketh a nadi betwixt the two", but my spine runneth full upwards to Chandra!

Basking in the rays of spiritual materialism, equipped with holy sunscreen,

Etz

P.S., I do believe the mudra is important, but I dare not mistake to finger pointing to moon for the moon itself.

Re: re: govidan marshall
I visited Yogi Ramaiah's (an old man in his 70's) ashram in Yuma, Arizona in the late-80's and sat in on a meditation session. Their Kriya seemed very strange to me because the breathing was so loud that it sounded like a roomful of vacuum cleaners going off at the same time. I was thinking, "How am I supposed to meditate in this noise or is it just a test?" I later talked to a top disciple and he said they rarely have time to meditate because they have to look after the ashram. I mean they had chickens, cows and goats roaming all over the place. He later added that they were more "Karma Yogis" rather than "Raja Yogis." I later met Yogi Ramaiah and didn't feel any kind of spiritual vibrations from him. Quite a circus it was!

Thank you for sharing this experience that you had with Yogi Ramaiah and his disciples in Yuma, Arizona. Yuma isn't too far from me. Probably a five hour drive. I know he had a temple or ashram there. Good thing I never went when I was searching for Kriya. It would have been a waste of time, or worse.

Namaste,
Swami Da Prem
