Boy, am I glad to see this board!!! Members around the world are in blissful ignorance, but those of us who live close by in LA, and have had the "opportunity" to work closely with SRF, have a different picture. The operating principle is that "members are the enemy." On the surface, everyone is sweetness and light, but the actual way members are treated is shameful. Brother Devananda talked about this at Convocation last year, and now he's been banned. Seems like all the most devoted and spiritual monastics are the ones leaving.

Members from around the world will not understand the "members are the enemy" concept. To be fair, many here serving in Los Angeles are helping and have the right attitude. But many "in power" are so fearful of criticism they specifically target those they think might "hurt" them. There was another post about this and I certainly agree with it.

Members are the group where most of the criticism might come from, so they are naturally targets. There are areas of SRF where they specifically hire non-members due to this fear. One of the areas is the group that administratively helps Daya Mata. Can you imagine? They won't hire members to help our President? Fear fear fear. I am concerned there might really be something to hide if they are so afraid.

P.S. Be careful what you post here. SRF is very serious about protecting itself from any criticism.

Bro. Devananda has not left the ashram. He is certainly in the dog house for speaking up, but he is still there. See my post with the figures for the number who have left recently.

To India? Sounds like a reward to me! And I bet to him. Don't tell SRF and blow this for him. What does SRF say is the reason he is being sent to India?

Due to the terrorist attacks, Bro. Devananda will no longer be going to India - at least for a few months. Poor guy - guess he'll have to hang around for a while. Lets just pray that he continues to express authenticity and keep us hopeful.

I heard a rumor that he's going to New York for a while to help with the tour and everything that recently happened there.
