 Walrus Confidentiality
Some of you registered users may have been surprised to receive an email from the Walrus, thinking that your identity, even if you register on the bulletin board, is kept confidential. I can assure you that you identity is confidential and unknown even to the board administrator.

We selected the EZBoard facility for our Board partly because it allowed this anonymous use. We felt that only through the use of anonymous messaging could we have the free and clear discussions needed to bring up the necessary issues.

Then how did you receive an email message from the Walrus? The EZBoard facility allows the Walrus Administrator (SRFWalrus) to send email to everyone using the EZBoard as a third party. Your email address is never revealed to the Walrus board operator. If you do respond to these messages and email back, we do of course then see your email address.

Thanks to everyone for all the messages and thoughts posted on the board. I have received many email messages that some are being helped by even just reading the messages. It helps some to think though the issues, and others to feel less alone.

If you would rather not receive the Walrus broadcast emails (like this one) then sign onto your EZBoard Walrus account and enter a non-existent email address.
