Changing the AY to emphasize the SRF monastics
The following is lifted from the Yogananda-DIF.org website. It gives an example of how SRF has continued to change Master’s books to emphasis the monastics as the most important people in Master’s organization.
Quote:
Autobiography of a Yogi - Original edition: footnote p 363
(referring to pronam) "Literally, 'holy name' a word of greeting among Hindus, accompanied by palm-folded hands lifted from the heart to the forehead in salutation. A pronam in India takes the place of the Western greeting by handshaking."
1981 SRF edition: footnote p367
(referring to pronam) "Literally, ' complete salutation,' from Sanskrit root nam, to salute or bow down; and the prefix pro, completely. A pronam salutation is made chiefly before monks and other respected person."
see yogananda-dif.org/WritAY.htm

In Master's time only a handful of people were actually monastics, many fewer than today. The first president of SRF was a lay member as was the first vice president (Dr. Lewis). Why is it that lay members are so worthless today?
Does anyone have a good explanation as you why SRF would change the definition of pronam and use it to highlight how respected monastics should be? Why would this be necessary for those humble souls choosing to be monastics?

Re: Changing the AY to emphasize the SRF monastics
If the comparative quotes you showed are correct, then they are caught red handed and there is no excuse.

It can be nothing else but deceptive manipulation of the teachings.

I see a pattern developing. SRF wants us to think that without them we "dont have a chance".

Looks like pure, earthly, petty, human behavior to me. Not like an organization that is directly "guided" by Yogananda.

It is just another religion now, with a GREAT founder, who's teachings are manipulated to make the organization seem more important than the teachings.

Same thing happened in Christianity. They emphasize teachings that perpetuate the goals of the organization. It's history 101.
