What should SRF Walrus Goal Be?
I believe it is man’s interpretation of the teachings, of Kriya, and the principles Master teaches that leads to the problems we see from the bad ladies. We can’t even understand the nature of the universe, vaguely described as God’s play or something. We are still primitive in our understanding. But in our current state of evolution we CAN understand how to treat people and the importance of learning to behave. If SRF is going to have any claim on being even a remotely spiritual organization it must be lead by people who understand these basic principles.

I suggest the GOAL of all of us should be the replacement of the current SRF leadership with monastics and lay members who know their limits and are trying to learn to behave. People who understand (and will publicly define) what the goal of SRF really is.

Comment on Goals...
Just what the world needs, a rewrite of Roman Catholicism. Since YOU can't comprehend the nature of the Universe, let's make if fit in YOUR perception of YOUR worldview.

The same "thinkers" put the "a" in Paramhansa, and killed off reincarnation at the Council of Trent.

Believe it or not, some folks out there actually do grasp the beautiful mysticism that will keep this path alive, though hidden from the casual view on most who strive to embrace it.

Go read the conversation (the real one) that took place between Ramana Maharshi and PY (Ramana's disciples took down his every word). What suffers?

There are those on this board with the Davis/Kriyananda "I am the channel" complex.
Rewrite the lessons----Oh brother!!

Check this out! This is what some of you sound like.

Quote: Roy Eugene Davis from Seven Lessons in Conscious Living, p.120:

"Since then, almost all of Paramahansaji's disciples have passed from this world. Of the few who remain, I AM HIS ONLY GURU-SUCCESSOR. A few of his disciples teach the philosophical
principles and practices of kriya yoga; I speak for, serve, and represent the tradition. It is my mission, which my guru confirmed."

Quote: Roy Eugene Davis:

"In this kriya yoga tradition the teachings and transmission of spiritual
energy are transmitted from a guru (teacher) to a disciple rather than
through the printed word or through the spoken words of individuals who
endeavor to quote what a teacher said. The remaining disciples of
Paramahansa Yogananda teach as his representatives, passing on his words
rather than the true spirit and power of this tradition. This, of course,
has value, because it serves to inform and inspire truth seekers.
I not only convey the teachings, I also accept responsibility for being a
guru (teacher) in this kriya yoga tradition".

Kriyananda:

"It is also vitally important at Ananda that other energies not be allowed to intrude themselves, as if to bypass Kriyananda and go straight to our gurus for guidance and inspiration...Yes, you can "go straight to Master," or to any other master in our line of gurus. Try it, please, if you like. See if they will accept you. Others have done so, however, and I have yet to see one of them flourish."

J. Donald Walters, in a twenty-three page letter to the Ananda community, posted on Ananda's website in December of 1998. (And removed, without explanation, several weeks later)

Master's warning:

"My message for the world has already been expounded in my speeches, classes and writings. Do not be misled by persons who, after my physical departure from the earth, will assert that they are receiving new teachings from me. To sincere seekers who in prayer request my help, I will always give it gladly and silently"

Paramahansa Yogananda

decaying SRF organization
Concrete,
Criticism of the decaying SRF organization is different from criticism of Master and his wonderful guidance. There are many ideals posted here, but loyal devotees of Master’s are mostly involved here. We are not trying to replace Master with some other wanna-be, not even Daya Mata.

The best goal for SRFwalrus

I have been proposing that the root cause of SRF issues is in the paradigm -- in the written teachings. To me and others, the ultimate goal in this SRF crisis is to change the paradigm. However, I know that the new generation of monks agree with this perspective -- the teachings are outdated because of its 1930 communication style; which damaging and in conflict with tremendous amount of scientific research in the fields of psychology, nutrition, and body work. So, if you succeed in changing the leadership my goal will be also reached -- sooner or later. So, I celebrate your goal! And I'm all ears about how this could be accomplished. I also believe that EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE. You mentioned in the past the need for passive resistance. I agree this is the way to go. How could we create a strong passive resistance movement? I would love to meet personally with you, but I do not know your real identity. If you can guess mine, please approach me anytime -- Rigiditananda.

Will power, courage, and the force of public opinion
The new generation of monks? Many of those who might have agreed with you are now gone. Those that are left are not likely to have any authority in their lifetime. A new generation of women are being trained in to continue to current ways. Thinking that with time, and a few ascension services, things will change is wishful thinking. Change will take will power, courage, and the force of public opinion.

Change will Happen
I agree with you-- the force is in the public opinion. But, to me that is the devotees, the lay members. As they gradually awake to the realization of what is going on and stop serving, donating money, and so on, SRF WILL HAVE TO CHANGE. It will take years, but the truth will prevail! -- Rigiditananda
