Re: Guru System Revisited
U.G. Krishnamurti

1918 -

The anti-guru, the nihilist of enlightenment.

He says that realization can't be made to happen, that it's a calamity, that if you knew what it's like, you wouldn't want it.

He tells people not to listen to him. It can't help, he says.

People listen anyway; his words are fascinating.

Guru Papers
I read an interesting book a while back that dealt with the subject of "true" gurus, called "The Guru Papers", by Joel Kramer and Diane Alstad. I didn't agree with everything in the book, but the sections on gurus completely changed my view of them. Has anyone else read this?

One of the chapters is "Oneness, Enlightenment, and the Mystical Experience". It may anger some, but Kramer tends to play devil's advocate in most of the book. It takes an open, non-defensive mindset to get through a reading like this!

Kramer, who is himself a yoga instructor, has a biography online.

At the end finding God transcends organizations
Thank You Walri,

When I first started composing the entry about needing help, one facet was predominant in my seeking help.

That was to reach out to a few/several like you and.....

gain some insight how little, how much, how to portray a story like mine in the last email...

Truly, this board is a major support for numbers of people including myself, and as others are....

I find myself compelled to tell of my decades of loving service, building the renovated Richmond Temple...
and of the rotten organization that is parasitic feeding on devotees like me......

I find myself compelled after having given these years of my life carrying on in the tradition of Kamala in North, California....to tell others the joy and beauty is outside srf, basically completely lacking within and the closer you get to BOD

I find myself compelled after countless discussions with neophytes thru the decades and telling them the PR line of the BOD like a parrot...
that NO! ..
from A-Z..
from keeping teachings pure..
to all the examples of the BOD seeking an obedient robot [versus an active, compassionate, creative and expressively loving spiriual community member, rather than a yogini or yogi living a nurturing life in family and community], they want a mormon, roman catholic, somewhat unfriendly clone...... that srf has become
a shame or worse.....

since 30% of the population are followers....We are compelled to encourage the 70% who actively, shape, share and touch others lives, like ourselves to follow their hearts, especially in distancing ourselves from the fear and mistreatment of people.

So in being so compelled as you are, I seek the help of yours in what experience can tell me (new to walrus) about my future postings here, support of present walri, and the presence here for those coming.

Thank You Soul Circle

How moving! Welcome with all the love of our hearts.

Your post sums up everything and captures the essence of the feeling aspect--the depth of betrayal we feel. The very ones to whom we looked for guidance and direction and support have become the devil's workers.

Daya Mata talked about her vision of a "dark cloud" years ago. The cloud is here, but they are in it, not working to dispel it.

Please stay with us and post more. I am encouraged and begin to hope again that a conscious and public understanding of what SRF actually is will increase.

Call Me; I'll Call You.....Call Me Dave; I'll Call You~Love~
gardendiva, Kevin, motlam, Musicman, Lobo, aVulcanThinker and Nisarga

Again and again I come to this thread,
To each feeling and thought

That with days, dancing in the years
of our experiences

With the ride along devotees glen
Be it a distant srf center

Ananda, Song of the Morning Ranch,
Lone Devotee in A World Throbbng in pain

The Lake, The Mother Center
The Phoenix Temple, The Richmond Temple

The Convocations, The Fullerton Temple,
Our meditations at home, The Pasadena Temple

The Encinitas Colony, The Church of All Religions
The newcomers, The "direct" disciples

The San Diego Temple, The Tours Worldwide
The Lone Devotees, The First Kriyaban we knew

And now recoiling from being branded in the fear farm
And now

Recovery and Healing
And now

The very deepest flows, feelings and love
We paint on these pages with words and sharing

And Now

Not much of a stretch to say
our innocence regained

Not much of a stretch for you to call in on
Sept 29th 510-734-2777 live
anytime 510-237-3206 messages

And Now, to hear your voice
Not much of a stretch, to say I love you

Once at Christmas I stood under banner
gracing Mother Center "Love One Another
as I Have Loved You"

Once we sat at Ananda
In a soulcirce with Kamala

Laughing as ancient Kamala said, "Yup, You!"
Kamala saying, Now I am a Yuppie!"

rolling on the floor laughing
divinely happy in flowing friendship

Now in June, chatting on a phone
Graced by the friendships of Love

In a Thread Like this
Realizing Self

And if a guru is anywhere present
The guru is utterly informal and sumblime, almost naughty

Naught but a hand to hold
A Heart to Understand

Nothing more
*******Nothing Less******

Call Me?Us
And Now

Re: Guru System Revisited
Right On! Guru with a capital G. We must remember that it is the behaviour of the MC organization in our personal lives that we are sorting through-not Master himself! Kriya works! The Guru's Shakti is real! I certainly am surprised how much I feel kriya shakti even when I no longer attend temple. We love our Master----it's just all the "in-laws" we're having a problem with. He loves us too and it's okay to doubt but always we should "talk" to him about it. Love God, be mad at him, be annoyed with him, yell at him, adore him, whatever---I yelled at Master alll the time that SRF only wants devotees to sing Cosmic Chants and no other music! But whatever we do even if we're mad at him, always have some kind of relationship with God and Guru. Hiranyakasupur hated the Lord and because his mind was on Him so intently, he received liberation.
