SRF Board: Never discuss your illnesses
Some other threads here are discussing SRF avoiding dealing with problems. They certainly do! How they handled the problems at the San Diego temple outlined in this thread is just terrible.

SRF absolutely never wants to discuss problems, especially problems with SRF! They are more than willing to have you call and discuss your own problems but that is the extent of it. They are completely full of baloney and it is pitiful that people buy it. Two plus years ago when the spiritual life committees were being crushed as well as some other efforts to improve and discuss things several members of the board called in about 30 monastics and a few employees. The Board members, Uma, Vishwa, and Savitri, explained to the group that we would in fact no longer be talking about problems inside SRF. As Master always told us, we don’t talk about our illnesses. We don’t recognize illnesses. That just reinforces a negative state. Keep your mind positive.

They used this excuse to kill all discussions about problems inside.

Do these people practice Master’s teachings? Do they even understand them? Do they even read them?

They also expected those in the meeting to swallow that excuse and drop all thoughts of the problems all around them. Is that amazing or what? Cult cult cult. The bad ladies are really something.

Hmmm. Last time I got sick, If I'd refused to recognize it and gone in to work, my employer would have recognized it for me, and sent me home - those were the rules put in place during the Winter's SARS outbreak.

I just don't have the energy to discuss all that I think is wrong with this statement.

My understanding of Master's teaching is, that thoughts have an attractive power, so you might as well keep them on the outcomes you desire. I don't think he ever meant "positive thinking," as a tool to deny that there are elephants in the living room! An individual or organization that refuses to engage in some kind of periodic self-analysis is crusin' for a brusin'.

Look at the consequences of denial of "negativity" in the organization - it just seems to be oozing out all over the place. It's almost like a tangeable, off-putting substance. Last time I went to our Center on a Sunday, I was struck by the fact that total attendance was about average, but a great majority of people were relatively new. Granted that people are on vacation, but the number of folks who I'd seen even 3+ years ago was quite small

Re: SRF Board: Never discuss your illnesses
If the Board of Directors can't come up with better excuses than that for hiding their problems they are pretty stupid. They expected the group to believe that? A child in Sunday school can come up with a better understanding of Master's teachings than the SRF board of directors?

What is really sick is that they probably knew it was not correct (since it is not even close). However they needed an excuse to shut down criticism and decided THAT was more important than misrepresenting Master's teachings. They twisted what Master had to say to suit their needs. Imagine, the top leadership of SRF would do that. Walrus readers need not read any more to understand what SRF has become.

Makes you wonder how often they do it?
