Borg,

I agree that group meditation HAS been valuable--but I am finding in my heart that it isn't the end all of the path. It seems almost as if Master is telling me to stop pushing it and even stop attending group meditations for now. I may in the future plan to take trips from Fullerton to Encinitas just to quietly meditate in the gardens once a month because those trips are extremely powerful. But I'm telling you, I think it's almost like lately this past year, Master's telling me not to go. Even when I tried to faithfully give it another try and go to group meditation no matter what, this blonde guy started bugging me all the time and I knew he wanted a date and I already told him I was only a friend. But he continued to be a pest. And the day I made the garland for a ceremony was such a miserable day because that guy would be intensely watching me throughout the entire meditation and could not get the hint that I didn't want him continuing to bug me so finally I yelled at him and he never bothered me again.

And then all these lay disciple ladies love to prove how superior they are to us by keeping the temple very cold. One very faithful devotee who was gung ho on never missing group meditation suddenly decided to stop going because the ladies keep the air conditioning constantly going on high in winter as well as summer and she got head pains from the cold. I think monastics are a little more mature. They don't feel they have to prove they're more advanced than us and they keep the temple nice and warm and let us sit on the floor whenever they come to direct meditation (which is very rare).:rolleyes

To each their own. One size does not always fit all. Some people do better by not attending group meditations or by doing other things. I know some in SRF who add sanskrit slokas and chants to their meditation practice. Dr. Lewis used to say to get God any way you can. There's room for all of us here. Some of the more rigid elements of SRF may not feel that way. I've come across plenty of these types. But that can also happen on this board, or anywhere else for that matter.

Hey, I know your friends. rob la pierre and craig bell from Temecula, right? And shakti? All those guys in the popular new age SRF circle. By the way, whatever happened to David White, Brother Satyananda's brother. He used to do a lot of music for SRF. I have 2 tapes of him I got from the import store. From what I heard, I think Timmaris told me he was in some kind of Coptic church doing his own chants and that she has nothing to do with him anymore. Please tell me any info as I'd like to get more of White's music.

Is this Mr. Everett Howell ? Amazing that he would get fired, the most polite man you can think of.
Actually not that amazing, lots of people get fired by Br.Gregory (now bro. UriahHeepananda I believe).
Good for him he sued them.
