The Blessing Corner
Back in my Jr. High School days, I had a P.E. teadher who absolutely knew the value of having a place where you could work out your negative behavior. It was called "The Blessing Corner," and it was situated at the farthest end of the P.E. field -- at the end of the schood, in fact. You went there if you cussed or exhibited any other kinds of "innapropriate" behavoir ( I place that word in quotes because it seemed to me and my peers that there was no such thing as an inappropriate behavior -- things were either fun or not fun).

So Mr. W. had this neutral zone where you could say the nastiest things ever conjured in a human brain, and it was his hope that maybe, while you were doing it, your parents or a high standing member of society would by and caught you in the act of making a fool out of yourself. That fatal synchronicity never happened of course! But we made good use of that blessed corner. I, myself, visited it more time than I can remember. There's something healing about a good primal scream. Something refreshing about being a tiny ranting pinpoint bent on hellraising a unresponsive infinite void. I always walked getting some insight, feeling more spiritual than when I began. Perhaps my gym teacher knew something we didn't, and that's why he called it a blessing corner.

This message board is our little blessing corner in cyberspace. And we've had some good rants. But we've also had some critical ideas shared that haven't been given, in my opinion, enough group consideration. Speaking for myself, I jjust wish more people would read the articles at the "Core Issues" section and give some thoughtful feedback. I'd like to see more than the same 4 or 5 people getting on the wave. Do you want more tabloid on the bad ladies? Or do you prefer in depth analysis and discussion?

I want the latter. If I'm out of place, somebody tell me, and I'll pack up and leave. One big reason why I left SRF is that I was literally being stifled in my mental and emotional development. I feel this once again on this message board. Old ladies like to sit around and endlessly talk about their surgeries, what others did to them....you know...gossip ad nauseum. If you ever ask an old lady what it all means, her mind goes blank. Zilch!

But we are men. Let us take out our sabers and have at it fiercely with the ideas that matter. If we are going to talk about core issues, let's cut straight to the core. And not alone, but together....

All for one, and one for all!!!

Your waaaaaaaaay outta place
RB,

Pack your bags; You ARE "out of place". There, somebody told you.

No wonder you couldn't "make it" as a monk; your inflated ego and
goofy intellectualizing wouldn't fit through the gates of the Mother Center.
How long have you had this challange with your wits?

Re-write the lessons. Now I've heard it all. Your pretty sneaky buddy. My
hunch is your desire is to be somehow appointed the next head cheese,
("any joiners"?) and show that "bad" SRF how you could do a better job.

Tough love Sinbad. You need it.

Look-out!! Here comes the delete button!!

RE Concrete
Let's not delete Concrete's posting.

We need show the world concretely just what a lifetime association with all this nonsense does to a person's mind.

Re: RE Concrete
We agree: this posting doesn't meet the criteria for deletion. The idea is definitely not to delete based on the poster's ideas, or disagreements, or even comments about another poster, unless they are abusive. Other posts have been deleted because they appeared to be deliberate attempts to derail the board itself, or to delegitimize it.

Concerning Mr. Raja B.

Notice the Kriyananda-like delusions of grandeur.
(Watch his reply, or lack-of, to this posting)

Tread with caution. Beware of hidden agendas.

Don't be so quickly enamored by one's intellectual-ism's.

I am gone my help will always be given to devotees all over the
world, if they keep in tune. Never think for a moment that when
I am physically absent from you all, I am not otherwise with you.
I shall be just deeply concerned for your spiritual welfare when I
am no longer in the body as I am now. I shall always be watching
over each one of you, and whenever a true devotee thinks of me
in the silent depths of his soul, he will know that I am near."

For what it's worth, here's my input, not that it means anything in this world of duality. Why do we have to assume hidden agendas, or even that we can effectively 'affect' the current situation at mother center? Diaolgue can bring about change, just as meditation and harmonious feelings can eventually bring about harmony. Raja Begun does seem to go over the edge somewhat, but he honestly seems to be himself, not holding back or trying to conform to some rigid matrix. Concrete seems to know a lot about Kriyananda, who it seems left mother center for his own reasons, so let it be. I appreciate Concrete's posts very much. Some people get 'stuck' in their own ideas, and some are here to expand our vision somewhat. I enjoy reading this board. I'm sure Guruji is enjoying this little drama, too. I enjoy the philosophy, so I have to ask the obvious question, how can all Guru's devotees work towards a common good, a common goal? Why do we have to see people in certain 'camps'? Don't we all love our Guru, each of us in his own way. How do we work together, despite the organization?

The Millon Dollars Question
Dear Yuga

You just asked the million dollar question.
1st) To work together we got to have a common goal -- a scattered dialogue, although cathartic will not make it.
2nd) Once the common goal has been identified, we need a long term strategy.
3rd) Then some tactics can be discussed.

For a goal to be meaningful it has to correct the deepest possible issue. What is that issue? The SRF teachings (lessons and books) with their countless problems. The rest are symptoms. If the teachings were right, there would be harmony inside the heart of those practicing them, and harmony BETWEEN those practicing them. Is that happening? Obviously not. Low self-esteem, repression, unfulfilled vocational goals, depression, ADD, bullimia, control issues everywhere, paranoia, power struggles, monastics living left and right, etc., etc. Is this happiness? Is this realization? Is this peace and harmony?

So, we better start thinking about how the lessons and books have failed to communicate Master's spirit and how this situation can be corrected -- to me that is the only worthwhile goal; the eye of the storm. -- Greetings to you -- Rigiditananda

Au Contrare! It's you who have a savior complex!

God gave me an intellect, so I'm using it to the best of my ability because there really are problems that need to be solved. If you want to be a dumb-otee its your priviledge. But don't expect the rest of us to follow you into oblivion.

Where do we go?
Yes, Rigiditananda, you are right. Greetings and happy thanksgivings. This problem is bigger than just the lessons and the teachings, me thinks. Or, perhaps the problem is not the lessons, but how they are delivered, and the emphasis (out of proportion to personal experience?) put on them? Perhaps people need to experience for themselves, in their own way, how the lessons help them, rather than being TOLD how to feel and think? Organizational leadership serves a purpose only to a certain degree; then personal "experimentation" must enter the equation. This has been my point, a re-examination of the whole meaning of self-realization to the individual, with or without the blessings of the organization. Perhaps the lessons do not stress the importance of individual self-realization as a goal. Keep them tied to the mother-ship, so the mother-ship doesn't sink? Truth is the goal, and perhaps we have skated over the truth, expecting too much of the devotee, in turn worrying too much about the numbers at convocation vs. those who are honestly approaching self-realization on their own? So from here, how can we help, where do we go?

the above is from the opening post in this thread

When it is of value, please join us in seeking the "common goal" mentioned above!

I picture a ship in the harbor.
Enough being tied to the dock

The dock being the energy consuming debate of the pros and cons of an organization whose trappings the majority never embraced or now have shed like an outgrown, dead snake skin.

Time for the journey into individual self-realization, common purpose and community, based on common goals and thoughtful discussion.

untying the cords that have used our energies in, "did she, did he, i agree, i disagree."

the common goal is us, and our maturing in prayers and direct experience of oneness and community responsibilty

Guests, the common goal is what your intuition leads you to hear from an optimum number in here, a deep calming pervasive joy

the common goal if for you guests, when it is of value to you each, to chart this course into love and compassion and self-empowerment on a sea of friendship ripened with contributions from your hearts~~~guidance with which we will all co-steer, and doing so, do it with gratitude

common goal r us

debates about the demise in our lives of srf, never existing again save in the wake of this ship, whose hull is open community whose sails are mystical-practical consciousness of a flowering self, surrounded by miles of upholding seas, giving us bouyancy, sweet and humble

our bow like a child always a beginner, with vibrant health and life ahead

headed for ports with the golden goose, laughing at us saying,
"you were floating in the love of divine mother at the harbor of debate about srf fascism (see Core Issues
you were floating in the sea of divine truth even as you were "seeking!
you are floating in divine service/questioning now that you reached the port of "awareness!"

common goal

the fascism post
Guests and All,

in the above post I had technical problems editing a typo about the location of the fascism post

it is in Core Issues in How the SRF experience holds our thinking hostage

good luck in entering into thoughtful discussions as a common goal and strategy come into focus

Re: the fascism post
It is sad to hear about how SRF has become a "broken" organization.

And it only gets sadder after reading the nasty posts by the self styled "defenders" of SRF.

Religious fundementalism is the most destructive force on this planet. I said that long before that day when 4 planes were hijacked.

It is ironic that there are SRF fundementalist that bristle at any honest debate about SRF.

SRF is 'sposed to the path that validates the major religions.

whatever
