I hope SRF is monitoring this board! Tell Bro. Satyananda that his behavior over the past few weeks in encouraging monks to leave the ashram is a disgrace. His self image is so precious to him that I think he should know that many of us out here have his number. And we are not going to be shy about letting people know.

Since he won’t honestly introspect himself, we will do it for him. Start treating your fellow monastics, and the employees, with respect. They are friends of Yogananda’s, loved by him, and precious gifts to the SRF organization. You are not the most important devotee on the planet.

Any suggestions that Satyananda introspect are fruitless because he already believes he is introspecting very deeply and is doing the right thing. And his supreme confidence in his own opinion prevents him even from questioning whether he's missing the point. Ditto for the bad ladies.

I was told that introspection charts are not used much anymore. Hey Terry, is that true?

Come on and answer, it can't hurt to just give facts.

When one introspects, there has to be a willingness to examine one's true motives without judgement. Such penetrating self-examination cannot exist in a culture of denial.

This is the real point. Introspection is the hardest activity to undertake, because it requires standing aside from the very illusions and excuses that we ourselves have created. The point is very well taken: what SRF provides as introspection is really just a check list of "good deeds": did I meditate enough? was I nice? did I think of God? There is nothing anywhere about real introspection.
