Urban legend: Only monastics will be President of SRF
There are many urban legends within SRF, some of which have been cultivated to keep the bad-ladies in control. Is there any truth to them? When we build a website we should address all these, so if anyone knows the answer please add a message.

Only monastics (and only nuns) will be President of SRF.

Not True
I have certainly heard that said. In fact they now say that only monastics should really run departments. A brief experiment at Publications and with the computer department ended in disaster with people questioning things. Good heavens how did they allow that?

Seems they are making rules now after the fact. Will each new generation make rules to keep itself in power, or reinterpret the teachings for people? New rules, new edits for Master's writing and talks. Each 15 years or so new twists and turns?

Twists and turns
Sure, that's the way it always goes. Look at the Catholic church -- in the last 50 years alone. Organizations = hornets' nests. Those who want an organization will find it-- be it SRF, Ananda, Calvary Presbyterian, Scientology, ISKCON, whoever. As for me, I am happy without one.

Twists and Turns.
Well said, X-Insider It is very good to read an entry from someone who has been there. It is hard for me to understand why anyone who has been subject to the garbage that has come from SRF (who continues to spew forth it's poison and venom upon some of the finest people on Earth) could possibly feel the need for ANY organization. It is abundantly obvious that when there is an organization, there is human tendancy toward seeking and maintaining power and control over other human beings. It just never fails to happen. How can an organization have any kind of positive effect upon one's spiritual life and his personal relationship with God? Like you, I am very happy without one.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
