A Proposal:
Stepping Up to The Plate: The Next Wave in The Work of Yogananda

Background:
We come to walrus ezboard with a common experience. What to do with our experience in the face of changing times has become problematic for many of us. We know of the benefits we have received through the mail-order method of a guru disciple relationship. Those of us who have followed the SRF teachings have until the past two or three years been inhibited from becoming yoga teachers ourselves due to the injunctions of SRF and our willingness to stick with the program. We have the example of others who have a less direct formal relationship with the influence of Yogananda's introduction of eastern philosophy. Their example has been to become teachers in their own right, so it can and has been done successfully.

Proposal:
This proposal seeks to adapt to the sea change brought about by the INTERNET to SRF. In the west it was not possible to duplicate the personal guru disciple contact as in India. There were no trained gurus, so Yogananda turned to the mail-order model by necessity. That work has done its job, and now it is our job to be living teachers, gurus in our own right. This is a progression imposed by the movement of progress and change, and it is up to us to adapt. It is proposed that we formally step up to the plate. First we acknowledge the situation. Second we acknowledge our training. Third we resume our own spiritual progression from student to teacher/guru. Fourth, we unite systematically, enlisting our credentials as alumni of the SRF training.

Benefits:
The stakeholders in this proposal are new seekers, SRF renewed, and our fruition as teacher/gurus. Most important is the spreading of love of self through mystical awakening to all who thirst.

Procedure:
First, evaluate yourself in the light of this proposal. Second, may we discuss here how we might bring SRF along on this logical progression of the Yogananda saga. It is suggested that all the pieces are in place, and the work is largely one of acceptance of the inevitable. We might begin by requesting en-mass of SRF that they issue certificates of attainment or completion of their course of study. This would identify us by our experience and training with Yogananda as direct recipients of his intended teaching.

Results:
There many yoga methods or schools such as Integral Yoga, Iyengar, Integrative, Kripalu, 3HO, and so on. Legitimate in their own right. It is proposed that we SRF alumni follow in the same suit, hanging out our shingles as formal yoga teachers under the renewed SRF banner. By this the inhibitions of the old SRF will be evolved into empowerment of the fruits of Yogananda's teachings. We become the next wave.
