What we can do to help SRF is to bring out real stories of what is going on inside. There are some there still honestly seeking God and trying to help his organization. Bringing the bad behavior to light will start more members asking questions and writing letters. The pool of waiting monastics has already just about dried up and the “bad people” are feeling the pinch from it. More needs to be done to uproot the “bad people” and get things back on track.

I suggest we post our stories here, even if anonymous they will have an impact if we are honest. Then get this board generally known. We should also figure out other ways to let “the bad people” know their poor behavior is no longer going to slide by without the membership knowing. We can see from the SRF reaction to the simple demonstrations by Ananda at Convocation that they can’t take criticism very well. Just like Gandhi, keeping simple pressure on them will cause them to self-destruct and give people of good character a better chance to be in positions of influence.

I like your idea. Specific stories with specific names would be most powerful. The more people who enter into dialogue with this community, the more chance we have at creating a "100th monkey" situation. The good people on the hill have merely been divided and castrated. I've talked with several monks who seem very discouraged and whose only solution to the problem is to wait to see what shows up after the old guard dies out. But what a difference it would make if these monastics knew there were several hundreds of us out there telling the truth, keeping watch on the administration like a bunch of yogi Ralph Naders. Think of it.

Here is an idea that will raise a few eyebrows at MC.

Write a letter letting them know that until they quit wasting money on law suits, hush money and such, until they begin to treat the monastics as if they too were human, until they learn to appreciate the devotees and employees involved in SRF, until they learn to live and speak the truth as taught by Master, until they read and take to heart the golden rule, until they hold an election to replace the board of directors and other egotistical, self centered monastics, you will not be sending any donations. But please, DO NOT SIGN YOUR NAME. There IS a black list and you will be on it for the rest of this life!

I have questions. Do you think people who donate large sums of money to SRF are treated differently than those we don't???

Do you think things are different at Lake Shrine and Encinitas than at MC???
