I've been watching Comedy Central's Top 100 stand-up comics of all time, and the percentage of Jews making the list is really high, like the majority, this includes many of my favorite comedians. However, we don't see any humor in the the old testament (the Torah). Nor am I aware of any humor in the new testament. Just an observation, someone at a party mentioned there's no sense of humor in the scriptures and also that Passion didn't include enough character development of Jesus. I explained that we have only a limited knowledge of Jesus' life. But I had no answer to the observation of the lack of humor in traditional religion. Anyway, Yogananda had a good sense of humor and I think it has a part in the spiritual life.
