Dear Friends,

As Editor and Project Manager of Integral Naked it is my duty to hold all of the moving pieces of this website and the surrounding community in place and keep things moving forward. Recently I have been presented with a new and unique challenge to this role from within the IN forum. A member of Integral Naked has been stirring emotions in the forum for some time now. Many of you attempted to intervene in various ways and I am sure you can relate to my challenge of how to deal with such a case.

As I became aware of this situation, I was a bit perplexed about how to handle such a case. The IN forum has no real rules to break so a strict interpretation of 'the law' would not serve us. I attempted a stern warning for one egregious offense and was met with denial and counter accusations. What is an Integral approach to social conflict? If you have not yet gathered what I am referring to, it is with regard to the member formerly known as Pi.

I then attempted a radical and unprecedented move for Integral Naked: a conflict mediation facilitated by an IN contributor between Pi and another forum member. We thought this might open both parties to take the perspective of other and perhaps spark a bit of growth towards harmony for the rest of the forum. While Pi made a very noble effort, this process did not come to fruition and was derailed by Pi in other offenses in the forum community and in conversations with myself via email. The bottom line is, Pi has been removed from the IN forum and IN subscription status.

Through the course of these interventions the offending member crossed an as yet unidentified boundary of etiquette within our online community in the form of revealing personal information about other members without consent. From this point forward this will absolutely not be tolerated.

I do not see this as a problem we shall face often as a community, but we have now had the fortune of experience to inform our decisions in the future. I would personally like to thank you all for your patience as we worked to resolve this difficult situation in a manner that honored the perspectives of everyone involved

I'm not at all interested in rehashing the history of the Pi situation, and I doubt anybody else is either. Suffice it to say that there were compelling reasons for banning Pi, and I'm glad that action was finally taken. Where the person behind the "Pi" persona goes is not relevant to us here. I have compassion for that person (particularly since working on my feelings about this in Diane Hamilton's excellent 3-2-1 class), but it's not idiot compassion. All are invited to join us in communion here, but not all are ready or able to do so.

Pi appears to be lurking and has emailed several people trying to get us to start threads here, so let me say: Pi, it's time for you to move on. Please take whatever lessons in interpersonal communication you may have learned here, and apply them to the next virtual community you choose to grace with your presence. There's too much negative karma accumulated here for you to ever be a part of this community again, and it's time to move on. Namaste.

This has come up when people have let their memberships expire in the past - the software won't allow the posts to still be listed as being by that author once the membership is gone, it will always revert to "Guest" if the membership is terminated by the member or by Admin.
