username, catch the last line---reposting not OK, not that we give a damn.

Ideal candidate will kiss butt on a regular basis, accepting authority from a bunch of aging, former Mormon nuns with the collective IQ of a chipmunk.

Ideal candidate will be required to hide the books from the people donating the money that pays for their job.

Ideal candidate will be required to work long hours at low pay and never complain about the lousy benefits.

Well, contrary to what I heard from one of the monks, it looks like SRF is still stuck with PeopleSoft. Damn fools.

Note that the ideal candidate will have "excellent phone and customer service skills"---if you have been reading my recent posts, you will know what THAT means (calling up rich devotees and grovelling for donations--all for a worthy cause, of course).

Compensation: To Be Determined (and the very next line says, "This is a non-profit organization"--translation: you'll be working for peanuts!).

Username, this is a goldmine of information. Thanks for posting this!!

Username,

Thanks!

Ernst & Young must be costing SRF too much for their liking (in other words, real world wages).

They are doing potential applicants a disservice saying they want someone who can foster a team atmosphere. SRF has nothing to do with being a team. You do what you're told to do, and above all you keep your mouth shut about everything, period. Morale is not their concern, as proven by the mass exodus of monastics with the crushing of the Spiritual Life Committees, layoffs of dedicated long-time employees, etc. Anyone who had real leadership ability and was naive enough to try to foster a team environment would probably get thrown out on their rear ends (just like the couple at Encinitas mentioned elsewhere on this board).

They should also add: Ideal candidate has no idea what is meant by the phrase "The Walrus." :lol

They need a CPA just to prepare paperwork for annual auditing -- a plain old MBA won't have the credentials. I truly hope no CPA is foolish enough to work for them for less than $100/hour, which is about $200,000/year. Hopefully in today's day and age any member CPAs have heard about what happened to Bob and Tom in Publications (just as examples) and not be crazy enough to go work for SRF for peanuts like so many did in the past, only to get used and discarded, especially with the millions that SRF pays their lawyers.

SRF would have another problem with convincing this person they can only pay low wages: this person would know what their financial state is! I guess if they quit in disgust when they realized how badly they were getting ripped off, SRF could just say they were not able to function as part of a team. Yes, that would be the best explanation to keep up morale. :p

And yes, the "excellent phone and customer service skills" has got to be for getting money out of rich devotees. Maybe SRF can route all counseling calls of the rich and famous to this person, who can listen patiently, offer some bland non-controversial advice, then bring up SRF's dire need for so many millions of dollars for the never-before-mentioned XYZ project that was Master's dying wish, and imagine the karma they'd gain by donating. They could even point out the tax benefits of donating, and how with the taxes saved the dollar amount isn't as big as it seems, and even make sure they know the line to enter donations in on their tax returns -- no extra charge!

Re: HELP WANTED AD ON CRAIG'S LIST THIS WEEK
How interesting. They can't seem to keep anyone in this position can they. Even with the high salaries they were paying. FYI: This was not one of the low paying jobs as it was not a member. Non-members can make a lot of money there.

By the way, E & Y has not worked there for years. It has been a revolving door of expensive and low quality consultants. Since the Matas claim to be God Realized it is sure surprising they are so bad at evaluating character and job abilities. Hmmmmmm

Note that the person doesn't even need PeopleSoft experience. Just Word and Excel. Will they never learn?

On another point, the bad ladies (Matas) never have these back room people call their rich and famous friends. The rich get special treatment. Special letters, special visits. special special special.

By a friend's count the people hired for this position usually last about a year or less. It really is a totally disfunctional place and people find that out pretty quick.

So when someone works for SRF, they pay their members less than non-members? Isn't that a twisted sort of discrimination?

Yes, that absolutely is a twisted form of discrimination. So, in most cases, is allowing only members or nonmembers to be employed in certain capacities.

But that's what happens when SRF makes scapegoats of real human resources professionals and lets ill-informed monastics or nonmembers from backgrounds other than personnel head up their personnel department.

Re: HELP WANTED AD ON CRAIG'S LIST THIS WEEK
SRF's twisted form of discrimination goes beyond paying non-members higher wages. It seems the higher wages SRF is paying someone, the more respect the employees or consultants are given and the more they are treated as valuable assets. (Pay at SRF is always low for members, and has little to do with job responsibilities.)

So in a lot of ways being a higher-paid non-member with SRF is the "airplane route" (to coin a phrase :p ) to being treated as far superior in every way to the loyal, devoted member cattle. Well, maybe every way except one. Member employees do practice their kriyas, and I heard once upon a time that spreading the message of kriya was supposed to be the mission of SRF. :(

Plenty of members work for free. I think I posted this before but they do it out of "service" to their Guru.
