Friends
What do you all say to SRF friends who have had no exposure to mother center? They are so excited to receive a Christmas letter printed by SRF, or to get a letter from the SRF computers. I have to act excited and fake how wonderful it is.

How do you all handle it?

Why?
Enjoy the content. Discriminate the truth in the letters. Why is everything "they" do categorically wrong?

They
I believe the “they” refers back to his SRF friends in the above message. He is wondering what we tell our friends. I don’t think the implication is that “they” are wrong in their thinking. “They” are just still on their honeymoon.

I myself used to enjoy getting the Christmas letter. I looked forward to parts of the SRF Magazine too. That was before I saw behind the curtain. Knowing they don’t practice what they preach ruined it.

The question is what do I tell my friends? I just try to avoid the subject. I don’t feel right discouraging them if they are not in a position to be harmed. If they decide to go to work for SRF, or to become monastics, or even to become center leaders, I will sit and have a long talk with them!

"They" defined
It's the criticized element at MC, not his/her friends. Perhaps I didn't answer the question directly, but in general you could tell your firnds the same: Discriminate content, enjoy what feels right, difference between Master & SRF, take the good, ride the bliss that's still there in group meditation, and I think Master asks us to use our awareness to expose blind bees to life in the 21st century.

My Experience
In my experience any suggestion that SRF is not perfect, or that Daya Mata is not perfect, drops a bucket of cold water on the conversation with SRF people I know who have not had close contact. I end up looking pretty bad unless I want to spend days justifiying my position, which I don't do. The SRF propaganda is very successful. They have used Master's reputation to good advantage.

So I avoid the topic. In fact, I usually avoid SRF people these days.
